7.4.2 How to Use Portfolio Scheduled Budget Adjustment?

Portfolio Scheduled Budget Adjustment is similar to Campaign Scheduled Budget Adjustment. It controls the overall budget of the ad portfolio to reasonably allocate budgets for its underlying ad campaigns, ensuring ads can be delivered normally during peak customer traffic periods.

1.Under the " Portfolio " tab in Campaign Manager, you can see the management entry and switch in the "AUTOMATION" column for the corresponding ad portfolio.

2.Click "Set Rules" or "Edit" to enter the Portfolio Scheduled Budget Adjustment management. You can set rules using the list mode. After correctly setting the rules and original budget, you can start automation. When the specified time period is reached, the management will change your ad portfolio to "Date Range" type and adjust it to the budget you set. If you choose to pause management, the ad portfolio will maintain the result of the last modification. Please make sure to confirm.

You can also use calendar mode to edit rules by dragging cells.

①    Custom Budget: Adjust the portfolio scheduled budget to the desired amount for the corresponding time.

②     Increase or Decrease Based on Original Budget: Adjust the portfolio scheduled budget by adding or subtracting a fixed amount from the original budget.

③     Increase or Decrease by Percentage of Original Budget: Adjust the portfolio scheduled budget by a percentage based on the original budget.

④     Use Original Budget: Set the portfolio scheduled budget to the original budget for the corresponding time.

Example:

If you set a $100 budget for your portfolio and you want to spend $20 from 0:00 to 6:00 Pacific Time, $50 from 6:00 to 22:00. and $30 from 22:00 to 0:00. you can set the rules as follows:

  1. 0:00:00 – 6:00:00: Custom budget allocation of $20.
  2. 6:00:00 – 22:00:00: Custom budget allocation of $70 (previous time segment budget $20 + current time segment desired budget $50).
  3. 22:00:00 – 23:59:59: Custom budget allocation of $100 (previous segment budget $70 + current segment desired budget $30).

With this setup, you ensure that there is a certain amount of budget available for each time segment.

3.The method of editing rules in list mode and calendar mode is the same as setting up Campaign Scheduled Budget Adjustment. You can also refer to hourly chart reports to find peak traffic or transaction times to assist in setting rules.

4. Once finished, click "Save." You can also click "Save as Template". For more details on rule templates, please refer to "7.6 Automation Rules"

Notes:

① The selected time is the time zone of the respective site.

② Do not use automation of other software at the same time. It may result in settings failure of your automation.
